About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Hong Kong --> Shanghai --> Sydney (Australia)

Hi,
I will be in HK for 72 hours before visiting Shanghai for 48 hours on my way home to Sydney.
Does Hong Kong count as China or a different region to Shanghai?
Thanks,
Alex

Alex, if you travel like that, you qualify for the 72 hour free transit in Shanghai. HK will be regarded as a third region.
