About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

is a transit visa needed if travelling with different airlines and terminals?

Hi I am intending to purchase a ticket thru Kiwi.com from tel aviv to manila.
the itinerary is tel aviv to moscow. then moscow to shanghai pvg arriving terminal 2 via Aeroflot Russian Airlines. then 4 hours 20 min lay over. i would have to collect and re check my baggage. i will then have to depart from terminal 1 via airasia zest to manila.
do i need to apply for a transit G type for this travel?
thanks

You don’t need to apply for a transit G type for that because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit. You can just apply for a temporary stay permit after arrival at Shanghai airport and then you can go to collect your luggage and check-in again.

Hi shirley thanks for your reply. Is this permit free? By any chance do you know if it works the same in dubai? Purchased ticket for my mom lay over in dubai but again different airlines and arriving and departing between different terminals. Lay over time is 7 hours. It says she would need a visa as she will be exiting the transit zone to check in again to a different terminal. Thanks a lot.

Dear, it is free, but it is only valid in China. I have no idea what policy Dubai carries out.
