please confirm that flying into shanghaicruising out by ship qualifies for the 144

Question

We fly from Heathrow to Shanghai in January 2017 for a two day hotel stay before boarding a cruise ship which terminates in Hong Kong. I figure that the 144 hour free transit will cover us as transits but need confirmation that this is actually the case.
