About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

If I'm a US citizen and have a layover in Guangzhou (Baiyun airport) for 19 hours

can I leave Guangzhou and go to Hong Kong and come back for my flight out of Guangzhou - Baiyun airport with just a 72-hour transit visa?

Priya, if you travel like US-Guangzhou-HK-Guangzhou to US by flights all the way, and stay time in Guangzhou is less than 72 hours each time, you will qualify for the 72 hour free transit in both directions.
