Layover of 6h30min, enough time to go to Guangzhou? How?

Hello,
I have a 6h25min layover in CAN (arrival at 18.25 and departure at 00.50).
1) Do you think this is enough for a (very) short walk in the city?
2) If yes, how long does it take for the formalities upon arrival? For the departure, I should aim to be at the airport 2h before? How long is the transport to the city?
3) What would you recommend to see in the city for such a short visit, and which transport should I take to get there?

As you arrive in the late afternoon, most of the sightseeing spots are closed at that time. It takes around one hour to transfer from the airport to downtown area, I am afraid that the time is too tight to take a trip during this short period. Also, you need to get back to the airport at least two hours before flight departure. In this case, you will have at most one or two hours to walk in the city. I don't think it is worthwhile. Therefore, I suggest you stay at the airport and look around some shops or sit in a coffee bar for a rest.
