Stopover in Beijing airport on route from USA to Phuket, Thailand

We are flying through Beijing to Phuket and only staying in capital airport for 2 hours. Do I need anything besides my US Passport and picture. This is a quick turnaround. I think this falls under the 72 hour free no visa policy, right?

Carl, because you just stay there for 2 hours, you can just go to the transit zone and wait for your next flight after you arrive. You need to provide your passport, the onward ticket and valid entry permit for Thailand.
