US citizen to Beijing (2 days) then HongKOng (2 says) then back to US

I'm a US citizen traveling to Beijing ( arriving Feb 17 then leaving Beijing on Feb 19) for Hong Kong (Feb 19-21) then back to the US on the 21st. Do I qualify for the 36 hr transit visa? Planning on a full day tour to Great Wall, Forbidden City and Tianamen Square while in Beijing. Thank you.
