About:Dual Nationality

I am British, and I live in China with my Chinese husband.

I want to stay in China, but do I have to continue working to stay? What about when I reach retirement age? If I cannot stay in China with a work visa, then how else can I stay in China with my husband? We have known each other for 10 years, and have been married for 3 years. I am reluctant to change my citizenship, as I still need to get back to England to visit family and friends. Is this my only option, to change my citizenship?

You can apply for Q1 Visa. After entering PRC, you need to apply for the residence permit within 30 days, which can be valid for 5 years at most. After getting married for 5 years, you can try to get the permanent residence permit but you don't need to abandon your British citizenship.
