Flying from US stopover at Guangzhou China then Philippines

I had read that only 2 mobile phone are allowed when you enter China (even you only have a connecting flight from their airports?). How about if I carry 1 personal cellphone and 2 cellphone (on a original box) a gift to my family? 1 Personal tablet and a laptop? Any help and advices from travel experience via connecting flight on China, on mobile phones, tablet and laptop? Do they advice you to checked-in or hand carry? Thanks in advance!

It may be allowed to take two extra phones, one tablet and one laptop. But remember to declare them at the customs. Generally, these devices have built-in batteries. They can only be taken in carry-on luggage.

Thanks for the reply and info Nell. My brother's friend whom he inquired within - who stays/work in PRC . That I can carry the mobile phones (he did not specify how many besides the 3 phones I inquired) 1 ipad and 1 laptop. These are used phones and I was told if I am bringing new phones and if they are still sealed on original boxes. Officials might asked to open it up and will probably charge you for a new phone tax. Also have a friend who flew thru China yes they took her extra battery juice pack for cellphone.
