About:China Transit Visa

US to Shanghai and back to US

If I am arriving in Shanghai on a flight from the U.S., will be in Shanghai less than 24 hours, and then returning to the U.S., does the 24-hour visa exemption apply?

Lee, no, you are not eligible for the 24 hour direct transit if you travel like that because it’s not a transit.
