Is it OK to do a one day turnaround in HK?

I have a 2 year, 90 day stay Multi Entry Visa and I will need to return to China to continue business before returning to the UK in January. My first 90 days ends in October so is it OK to flit across to HK and return the next day to reset another 90 days?

It is okay to exit for HK for a day and then re-enter PRC to stay for another 90 days.
