Transit Visa for Australians

My Husband and I will be taking a cruise fro Tokyo and disembarking in Shanghai in Oct 2017. We will be flying home to Australia possibly the same day or the next. Do we need a Full Tourist Visa (L) or do we qualify for the Visa Free Transit Visa

According to my experience, you are qualified for the 144-hour visa free transit if you take cruise to Shanghai from Tokyo and fly back to Australia afterwards. But I suggest you double check this with your cruise company.
