About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

If I have a layover in Shanghai for 12 hours and want to use the 72 free transit,

do I need to claim my baggage and bring it with me out of the airport?

JC, you should contact with the airline and ask if your luggage will be delivered to the final destination. If yes, you don’t need to claim it; if not, you need to claim it, and you can store your luggage at the airport.
