Troy, so you will fly from Sydney to Shanghai via HK and then return to HK? If so, you are not eligible for the 72hr free transit.

HiNo Sydney to Shanghai is direct no stop on the way. But when we leave Shanghai we go to Hong Kong for two days before flying back to Sydney
