About:China Train

child or adult ticket

I have 2 kids, 15 years and 12 years respectively. So should I return them as adult or child in the traveller information?

I am travelling in 5 December 2016. Can I book the train ticket now?

It depends on the height in fact. The child under 120cm can board for free by sharing the seat/bed with adult. The child under 150cm can buy the child ticket. If over 150cm, you need to buy them normal adult ticket. This is for domestic trips only, international trips are different.
