About:Hong Kong Travel

Will be travelling to Guangzhou via Hong Kong in October month for canton fair.

I am Indian Passport Holder.
My itinerary is Flight from Cochin to HK on 16 Oct & Return from HK on 3 Nov.
I would like to spend the first 14 days in Guangzhou and last 3 days return in HK.
My Question is
1) Since My flight will land at 20:30 on 16 Oct in HK. So do I cross the immigration and take bus/train to Guangzhou or wait for ferry next day at 11:00.
2) Do I need to apply for a HK visa . Since Indian passport holder are allowed 14 days free VOA & I am travelling back to India from HK after 17 days

Many direct cross-border coaches are scheduled in the airport for which you need to go through the immigration, so this should be your best choice to transfer to Guangzhou instead of waiting for the ferry in the next morning.

And you are correct with the visa thing. Visa is not needed for the transfer for Guangzhou at HKIA and the 3 days' stay in HK. Just relax!
