About:Chinese Consulate in Edinburgh

Do my wife & I require visas to travel to the destinations shown below? We have UK Passports.

Travel Date 8 October 2016. Glasgow - Dubai - Hong Kong. 2 nights stay in Hong Kong. Royal Caribbean Cruise commencing 11 Oct. Hong Kong - Singapore, calling at Sanya (8 hours), Nha Trang (11 hours), Ho Chi Min City (32 hours) and Singapore, including 1 night hotel stay. Singapore - Perth, staying with relatives for 10 days. Return date 30 October Perth - Dubai, 31 October Dubai - Glasgow. We have received various conflicting responses to this question and need written confirmation urgently to reassure us.

Andrew, because you just stay for 8 hours in Sanya and after that, you will go to a third country or region, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit. In this case, no entry permit is needed.
As for HK, you can enjoy the free entry to go there for a stay of no more than 180 days.
