About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

I am already residing within mainland China under an X2 type, and need to apply for an F type.

Need I apply for this within mainland China somewhere? Or should I go to Hong Kong to apply and wait for, and collect the new visa?
Regards
Tom

Tom, you can try to apply for it by converting the X type to F type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within PRC. But if it cannot be done, you need to exit and apply for it in your home country because if you don’t have HK residence permit, it’s not easy for you to apply from there.
