D type - spouse reunion probability of approval

Hello there,

I'm married to a Chinese national. I've heard that it's very difficult to obtain this visa for spouse reunion. What is the probability of acquiring a D type if all the requirements are met? Are there instances where an application gets dumped even if the requirements are met? What would be the grounds for not getting it?

Thanks in advance..

Isabel, you mean your marriage has lasted for 5 years? You live in ORC for 5 years in a row, and your annual stay in PRC is more than 9 months? If yes, you can try to apply for the D type for spouse reunion, but I’m not sure if it can be approved in the end because as you have heard, it’s very hard to get. You are advised to make full preparation in advance.
