About:Chinese Consulate in Manchester

Do I need a visa to visit Xiamen, China, or is this a 72hr transit permit exempt city.

I am a UK citizen currently studying mandarin at a university in Taipei, Taiwan. I'd like to visit Xiamen for 3 days in September and then return to Taiwan. Is this possible without an entry permit.

Dear, it's true that Xiamen has adopted the 72h free transit policy, but if you fly from Taiwan to Xiamen and then fly back to Taiwan, you can't enjoy the 72h free transit there. You have two options, one is to apply for the VOA upon arrival; the other is to fly from Taiwan to Xiamen and then fly to a third country before returning to Taipai, so that you can enjoy the free transit there.
