About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Is also your own country meant as "third country"?

Hello, I have Italian passport, I will end my trans-siberian journey in Bejing, entering by flight from Mongolia and flying to Italy the day after (24 hours layover).
Do I qualify for the 72-hours visa free in Bejing? I though yes, but then I've seen on the official website of the airport this answer among the FAQs and I am not sure anymore:

"3、Is the policy applicable for foreign visitors who come to China and go back to their own counties within 72 hours?
The policy is only applicable for foreign tourists who take transit in China and leave to the third country."

Thanks in advance!
Jessica

Jessica, don’t worry! If you travel like that, you can enjoy the free transit in Beijing. Nice trip.
When you travel like Mongolia-Beijing-Italy, comparatively speaking, Italy will be regarded as the third country.
