About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

8 hours layover in Shanghai

Hi. We have U.S. Passport from Hawaii traveling to Philippines and we have an 8hrs layover in Shanghai. Can we use the 24hr direct transit and get out of the airport to visit the city? What forms do we need to fill out.

Yes, you can use it. You just need to fill out the arrival and departure card for foreigners.
