About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

On tourist L types, if we go to HK, can he use the 72 hour free transit to fly out of Guangzhou

My friend and I have single entry tourist L type for PRC. If we go to Hong Kong for a couple days, can the 72 hour transit visa be used for when we need to fly out of Guangzhou?

Kelsey, you mean after staying for a couple days, you will fly to Guangzhou, and then fly back to Canada from there? If yes, and you stop in Guangzhou for less than 72 hours, you can enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Guangzhou.
