About:China Visa Exemption

I am a us citizen traveling to Shanghai China via cruise ship with 11 hours in port. VISA yes or no?

Linda, in principle, you are eligible for the free transit policy. However, I heard someone say that if you take a cruise ship to China and leave by the same ship, you may need an entry permit. So you are advised to confirm this with the cruise company in advance.
