Beijing is my only stop before Thailand. I fly in on October 26th, 2016. Is an 8 hour layover long enough to visit Great wall.

Jared, you can apply 24-hour direct transit in Beijing and you can visit the Great Wall. Eight hours are enough for you but you had better book a tour in advance. It's not convenient to go to the Wall from the airport by yourself.
