About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Free transit allowed?

I plan to arrive in Beijing from London on 4th November at 1200, my flight does not dep until 0805 5th November and routes via Shanghai( 7 hour airport layover) then to Seoul.
Can I use the tourist visa 72 hours for this?, I am using 2 cities in China on transit?.

Because you will stop in two Chinese cities, you are not eligible for the 72 hour free transit.
And your total layover time in PRC is more than 24 hours, so the 24 hour direct transit is not applicable to your transit either. Thus, you should apply for a transit G type or tourist L type in advance for your travel.
