About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

South Korea to Shanghai by ship depart by air to London

We are UK passport holders traveling to Tokyo, Japan to take a cruise which after leaving South Korea will dock at Shanhai, we then have 3 days before flying back to UK via Dubai. Are we covered by the 144hrs free transit agreement. If so, any ideas of time required to get clearance?
