About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Shanghai 144 hour transit visa

I will fly from Hong Kong ( or Macao) to Shanghai, stay 144 hours and fly afterwards to Taiwan.
Am I qualified for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai? I have a Schengen area passport.
Thanks.

Thanks so much for your answer. I gave you the patch in the back all right.

As I am first flying from Taipei to Hong-Kong before flying to Shanghai, do I have to enter the Hong Kong territory or can I just wait in the transit zone of Hong Kong before flying to Shanghai and return a few days later with a direct flight from Shanghai to Taipei .....to be able to benefit from the 144 hours free stay in Shanghai?

Hugo, just staying at the transit zone is not enough and you need to enter HK. In this case, you can get the entry and exit stamp on your passport to prove your entry to HK and then you can apply for the free transit in Shanghai.
