About:Pingyao Travel

I know there is a two hour train to Taiyuan to Pingyao and back.

How far is the train station from the ancient city when you arrive and would you need a taxi from the station or are there buses running too?

Well, the train leaves from the old railway station which is within 1mi from the ancient city. U can ask the locals about the right directions and walk there directly, or take a taxi to reach in several minutes with the cost of CNY5.
