About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I have philippine passport with layover in Shanghai from Manila bound for Tokyo, possible?

I got confused with an application form to be filled out and contact a consular office. Can I make a transit in Shanghai airport and I have 9 hours for the next flight then? What I've read it is free and can be done upon arrival.

Melvin, you are able to use the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai, so no entry permit is required.
