About:China Visa Exemption

Is the Direct Transfer visa exemption available for cruise travellers?

I will be traveling to Xiamen via the new Majestic Princess cruise ship on June 26, 2017. The ship will arrive at 7:00 am and depart at 6:00 pm the same day. Would the Direct Transfer exemption apply? Also, could you just stay on the cruise ship and avoid the need for a China entry permit in Xiamen?

Dave, if the country you will go to is different from the last country you come, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Xiamen. If you want to leave the cruise ship, you just need to apply for a temporary stay permit at port and it is free of charge.
