About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Under 24 hours in Guangzhou

Hi, I am an American flying Thailand to Guangzhou and immediately back to Thailand

I will spend total less than 24 hours in China (arrive 11pm, fly next day 8pm)

Do I need a visa?

David, you need to apply for a tourist L type in advance for your stay in Guangzhou because you will fly back to Thailand after less than 24-hour stay in Guangzhou, you cannot use the direct transit in Guangzhou.
