About:Chinese Consulate in Melbourne

港澳居民来往内地通行证

In addition to Australia passport, I am also a holder of 港澳居民来往内地通行证. I am planning a trip travelling directly from Melbourne to Shanghai (not from Hong Kong) next month. Can I use 港澳居民来往内地通行证 to enter PRC? Or, do I need a visa?

Chi, you can use it to enter PRC, and in that case, no visa is needed.
