Visiting my daughter who is studying in China and she does not yet have her proof of residence

I am visiting my daughter who will be studying in PRC. She has not yet arrived in China, therefore she does not have her proof of residence yet, which is necessary for me to apply for the S2 visa. Can I go to consulate and apply without her proof of residence or must I wait until she lands in China and receives her proof of residence?

Paul, along with your daughter’s passport and student X1 type, you can take all the required documents for S2 type to apply for the S2 type. It’s possible for you to get that in this way.
