About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi Could you pls tell me if the following is permitted

UK -> Shanghai ( Hong Kong (1 week stay) -> Shanghai (transit only) -> UK.

Would look to be booking 2 return trips but the cities before and after the Shanghai stay are different
