About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can we do this? What about visas?

We plan to fly from the U.S to Beijing for 3 nights. We will then fly to Xian for 2 nights before flying to Hong Kong to spend 3 nights before our cruise.

Fran, you can do this trip, but you need to apply an L type visa for mainland China. Since you stop in more than one mainland cities, you can't enjoy the 72h free transit.
