chinese visa and passport with 3 months validity- can i travel to china

I have a multiple entry chinese entry permit valid for last entry through July and a passport expiring in September. Can i travel to PRC in June? Airline wont let me check in because passport is not valid for 6 more months

Samhay, you can travel to PRC in June. Only when you apply for the entry permit, your passport must have a remaining validity of at least 6 months.
