About:Beijing Capital International Airport

How long should it take from the Capital Airport to Tian'anmen Square using Airport Express?

Where should we change trains?
Trying to see if it's a possibility, rather than just staying at the airport for 5 hours...

Take Airport Express train to Dongzhimen Station, and change to metro line 2 to Jianguomen Station. Then, transfer to metro line 1 to Tiananmen East Station, Exit D. The whole way takes about 40 minutes, and the fare is CNY 29 per person.

Thank you George, much appreciated. Is the fare you quote for a single or return ticket?

In your opinion, can a visit to Tian'anmen square be done with only 5 hours between landing from one plane and taking off on another? I'd hate to be in China and only get to see the airport.

The fare is for a single trip.

To be honest, the layover is quite short. You are advised to stay at the airport in order not to miss the flight. Maybe, you can have a rest at the lounges, or go shopping at the duty free shops.

Thank you George. I may well have to revise my plans anyway, just received an e-mail saying my onward flight has been cancelled. Back to the drawing board.
