72 hour transit visa, can i use it?

Hi.

I'm travelling to Munich but have a 18 hour stop over in Shanghai. I want to tour around Shanghai during my stopover and is the 72 hour free transit issued and approved on arrival or do it need to visit the Chinese consulate in Auckland?

Thanks

Dear, you can use the free transit. You don't need to visit the China consulate, just need to tell the airline staff before you arrive in Shanghai. Upon arrival, you can apply for it at the airport.

Hi.

Thank you for clarifying that as I couldn't seem to find where the transit permit was going to be issued.
