Yvette, you can apply for the Q2 type in Philippines, but I cannot assure that you can get 2-year Q2 type with stay duration of max 180 days because the final decision is made by the consular officers according to your travel plan and the documents you need. From where I stand, it’s not easy to get that kind of Q2 type. Anyway, you can give it a try.

Hi Rudy Thank you for your response actually I am asking for my Singaporean friend whose parents are in China so he can apply Q2 so you think still depends on the consular officer? Thanks in advance!

is that 10 years or 2 years or 5 years?and what kind of document does he need to prepare?
do he really need a PH working visa?

Dear, if his parents have residence permit in PRC, he can apply for the Q2 type. I mean how long he can stay in PRC after each entry mainly depends on the actual days he needs and the consular officers will decide it according to his travel plan. The max duration of Q2 type is 180 days. And the validity of a Q2 type may be 3 months, 6 months, 12 months or more.
A PH working permit or residence permit is necessary if he applies for it in Philippines.
