About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit visa needed or not? 6 hours transit in Shanghai

Hello i hold an iranian passport and will be transiting in shanghai airport for 6 hours, i called your embassy however they told me to call china because they were not sure if i need a transit entry permit or not.. can you help?

Della, after 6-hour stay in Shanghai, if you will fly to a third country or region rather than the last country you departed, you don’t need to apply for a transit G type and the 24 hour direct transit will cover your transit.
