Svetlana, you can stay up to six days in Shanghai on your way to Japan and three days in Beijing on your way back home. By the way, for the six-day duration in Shanghai, you can also travel to Hangzhou or Nanjing or other cities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang for some trips.
