About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

2 Times entry to Shanghai

I want to fly from Switzerland to Shanghai and then Japan (one week in Japan), and then fly back to Shanghai and then fly to Switzerland.
Can I get twice 144h Visa free in ShangHai?
Is it really needed a seat reservation for each flight ?
