About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hour free transit Route query - quick response appreciated!

Hi, I've just boarded a flight from Dubai to Shanghai via Doha. The Layover in Doha is 4 hours. I will return direct to Dubai within 72 hours. Do I need to exit the airport at Doha? Many thanks

Alex, you need to exit the airport in Doha and get a stamp on your passport, in this case, you can use the 72 hour free transit in Shanghai.

Hi, quick update - I didn't leave the airport at Doha and had no issues when I arrived in Shanghai. My main issue was at DXB where I was told at checkin that my route wasn't valid & I would need to book a return flight to somewhere other than Dubai. After speaking to 3 supervisors they agreed my route was valid & allowed me to checkin.
