About:Chinese Consulate in Melbourne

requirement for Passport validity to HK

I have been told I only need one month validity on passport to travel to Hong Kong from Melbourne, is this correct?

Yes, it's correct. As long as you are sure to leave HK before your passport's validity is less than one month, it's fine.
