About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Arriving by cruise ship in Hong Kong on 5 July, cruise is there for 2 days, then in to Shanghai dock

Arriving by cruise ship in Hong Kong on 5 July, cruise is there for 2 days, then in to Shanghai docking on 9 July from 7am to 11pm then in to Beijing (Tianjin) docking on 12 July from 4am to 11pm. In Brijing I have arranged a tour to Great Wall at Mutianyu and to Firbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Does this qualify or do I need to apply for visa?
Thanks

Debby, no, it doesn’t qualify for the 72 hour free transit. You need to apply for a tourist L type to Shanghai and Beijing ahead of your journey.
As for HK, because you are national of New Zealand, you are allowed to enter freely.
