About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit in Shanghai for 12 hours

Hi. I will be flying from Zurich Switzerland to Sydney Australia and will transit through Shanghai for 12 hours. If I left the airport and went into Shanghai to see the sites, would I be covered by the 144 hour visa free period? Also is there a limitation as to where I can visit in that 12 hours?

Toni, you are covered by the 144-hour free stay period. During the 12 hours, you can travel around Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang. It's big enough for you to travel.
