About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour *and* 72-hour visas?

Apologies if this is complex. I am planning to use the 144-hour free transit (I qualify for it), arriving Shanghai and departing Hangzhou for Mongolia. The problem is that there are *no* direct flights from Hangzhou (or Shanghai or Nanjing) to ULN, so I will have to stop in Beijing... and the only flights I have access have an overnight layover. This means that unless I sleep in the airport (which I *really* don't want to do for good reasons), that I will have to leave the airport to sleep. In other words, can I use the 144-hour free transit, then another day in Beijing on the 72-hour free transit? If not, what do you recommend? Thank you very much!

Cb, actually if you want to use the 144hr free transit policy in Shanghai, you are only allowed to travel in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. If you go to Beijing as well, you can't make use of the 72 or 144 hour free transit. So I advise you to fly from Hangzhou/Shanghai/Nanjing to ULN via Hong Kong or Macau or another nearby country.
