About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

US travel document need transit visa?

I am going to travel from San Ffancisco to Phuket (Thailan) but I have stop on Shanghai airport. I have green card and US travel document and I don't have passport. Should I get trasint entry permit for stop in Shanghai just for 5 hours?

You don’t need to apply for it because you can use the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. I think you can apply for the direct transit with your US travel document.
