About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Possible Layovers

What if I travel Seoul (GMP)->Busan (PUS)->Beijing (PEK) on Aug 25, and Beijing (PEK) ->Seoul (GMP) on Aug 28?

Or Seoul (ICN)--> Qingdao (TAO) -> Beijing (PEK) on Aug 25, and then Beijing (PEK) -> Seoul (ICN) on Aug 28?

Would either of these itineraries qualify for the 72 hour transit?

Hi there! Both of your travel routes are not eligible for the 72 hour free transit. As for your first travel route, after your stopover in Beijing, you fly back to Korea, but in principle, you should fly to a third country or region.

In your second travel route, you will stop in two Chinese cities and you fly back to Korea. When using the 72 hour transit, one is only allowed to stop in ONE Chinese city and cannot fly back to the last country he/she departed.
